Training

In order to run recognised Forest School sessions it is important to undertake the necessary training. Forest School leaders should have level 3 qualification. They can be assisted by another level 3 leader, or a level 2 assistant. Level 3 training is available to teachers, support assistants, nurses, nursery nurses, etc, with relevant experience.

Level 1 Forest School Skills Award - is available to people who only want to work on existing school/nursery/playwork sites

OCN Level 3 Forest Schools Leaders Award-

Course Time Commitment:

- 2 Days Outdoor Emergency First Aid (exemption for those already qualified)
- 4 Days Forest School training (includes one evening, to be agreed by participants)
- 2 Days Forest School residential April Practical assessments - to be arranged (by which time you should have completed your written assignment)

You will also need to produce a CRB Advanced Disclosure with your final written assessment
